If you are a friendly person that loves nothing more than helping out others, then there are a multitude of careers which would be perfect for you. If you are considering a career change, but don’t really know what to do, then it could be a good idea to hone in on these skills that you have. Think about your attributes and what you feel are your best traits. If you consider these and what you enjoy doing, then make a career out of it, you will enjoy your working day so much more. At the end of the day, the point of our careers is to do something that we love, so if you can find that then you will be much happier. Here are a few careers to consider if you love helping others.
A teacher
A teacher is a great career if you have a kind and caring temperament and want to help others. By being a teacher you can know that each day you are going to work, armed with your lesson plans (you can get some ideas for those here: https://studentreasures.com/teachers-lounge/lesson-plans/) and really making a difference. You will help students to discover what they want to do in their future and to achieve things that they might not have otherwise believed themselves capable of.
A nurse
A nurse is an extremely caring professional and you will make a difference to the day and life of everyone that you meet. In a time when people are ill and can’t do things for themselves, you are there to help them. Being in hospital can be a scary time and where they feel alone and helpless, separated from their friends and family members when they need them most. You are the one that can step in and be the friendly face that they know they can trust and rely on. You are a shoulder for them to cry on and someone to talk to when they need it.
A home carer
If you are a home carer, you will go into people’s houses and help them with medical and personal needs. This could be that they are sick or elderly and cannot move as well as they used to. You will help them to get up, get dressed, washed and to eat their meals throughout the day. You play a vital part in helping them to retain some independence and live their lives to the best of their ability. You are a listening ear, a helper and will make their days that bit brighter.
These are just a few careers that you can consider if you love to help others. These are all jobs that will have you helping people every single day, giving you a real sense of pride and satisfaction both with your job and with your life too. What are your thoughts?
