The best time to visit a campus is at its busiest. Schedule your trip for a weekday when faculty, students, and staff, are present. Holidays and breaks are convenient, but you won’t see what the college is like at full capacity. You’ll get the freshest taste of the college experience if you arrive in the fall and sign up for a tour of the morning sessions. When scheduling tours, give your top picks more time for a hosted walking tour and your second and third picks unofficial, self-guided tours so that you don’t lose road time. 

Prepare Your Car

When you’re far from home, you don’t want to leave anything to chance. Before you hit the highway, make sure your vehicle is up for the trip. Even if it’s not due for a checkup, bring it to your mechanic to ensure it’s in good working order.
