Being low on cash in college is quite normal. And the mounting debt from student loans and everyday expenses doesn't make it any easier. It's no wonder that about 70% of students balance work and college life to stay afloat. There are numerous benefits to getting a job while in school. Not only does it offset some of your expenses, but it also gives you some financial freedom and prepares you for the job after graduation. If you would like to work on campus or outside, here are some job suggestions worth considering.

Nanny

Nanny jobs are extremely popular among college students because of their flexibility. Depending on the ages of the children you'll be taking care of, you might be required to work afternoons or evenings. You can catch up with your studies and assignments while caring for babies during nap times. Some families might also be open to including room and board, which makes it a suitable option for students living in high-rent areas or are from other countries. As a nanny, most of your duties typically include providing homework assistance, household chores, preparing meals, picking up and dropping off school kids, and taking them to other after-school activities. Nanny work can be profitable, depending on your hours and the areas that you work in.

Fitness instructor

Many college campuses have gyms where students usually operate. If you are into fitness and like to help people generally, working as a fitness instructor might be a good idea. You will get bonus points if you are certified to teach other people. Whether in weight management, yoga, pilates, or dancing, you can take a test now to become a certified fitness instructor.

It's also great to stay in shape while attending college. Plus, you get to save a lot on gym fees by taking free classes! Who wouldn't love to save a little extra cash? However, if you're not certified, you can apply for a front desk position or offer janitorial services.

Tutor

Most schools have learning centers that provide tutoring services in various subjects, so keep this in mind. If you are an excellent student in a particular field or subject, you can earn some money tutoring other students and helping them pass their courses.

For example, international students who speak more than one language can advertise services as a tutor for other students on language learning courses. These areas are usually the most popular subject for tutoring, but any subject you’re an expert on will be a good way to bring in extra cash.

If you've a talent for writing, you can also help students with their term papers, essays, and theses. Take advantage of your school's writing center, if it has any, and help students develop their work, as well as teach them other important aspects of writing college essays, such as reference styles. You can also review and edit papers for other students. That should fetch a decent amount of money.

Being a college student, you'll probably be short on cash a few times. A part-time job can help you earn additional money and build up your career CV. The most important thing is finding a job that fits perfectly around your schedule so you can still concentrate on your studies.
